Supplied to universities and research institutions — and contributed to the first Nagoya-area sighting of a freshwater mussel (Unionidae) in roughly 30 years.

A frame-only structure, with no top or bottom plate, keeps the dredge lightweight while maintaining balance (Japan Utility Model No. 3224300).

Track record
Supplied to universities and research institutions; a survey using this dredge contributed to the first sighting of a freshwater mussel (Unionidae) in the Nagoya area in roughly 30 years (see: Nagoya City document (PDF) ↗).
It was also exhibited at the Osaka Museum of Natural History special exhibition “Hooked on Shells,” in the section introducing researchers’ collection and survey tools from the Edo period to the present (see: exhibition info (external site) ↗).
